More Vigo

The view from a park situated on a hill in the center of the city. A fort/ citadel type structure is built there and is called "The castle".

Here is one of the walls of the fort.

Notice the flowers attached to the crucifix. This was atop another hill in Vigo, the view behind looks out at the mouth of a river.

This is a view of the harbor from a large hill in Vigo that is home to a picturesque chapel and an expansive park. The "Mountains" you can see on the horizon are actually a series of islands called the "Cies Islands" and they are home to what is considered by many (Including the NY Times) one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Unfortunately I did not get to go out there. Demand is very high, and you have to get up very early in the morning to get a spot on one of the ferries. Perhaps another time.

This is looking out at a beach on the backside of the hill. I waded in the water here a little, and took some time to relax in the sun.

Another shot looking out at the beach. There is a nice park surrounding this beach, which is at the base of a very steep embankment.

This is an example of a more suburban neighborhood around Vigo, very beautiful, very pleasant, you'd just have to get used to rooster calls to live there in true peace.

The chapel on the hill. On the side of the chapel was spray painted in Spanish "No Tourists!" I was thoroughly amused.
